Last year, I did it a month too late, so I figured I'd submit this one early to compensate. XD
A tribute to the man who got me drawing, Ed Emberley, whos birthday is on the 19th of this month.
Ed Emberley famous for his "drawing books" which showed how to make practically anything using simple shapes (in fact, Weasle came about cause of his "How to draw a fox" page of Ed Emberley's Big Orange Drawing Book, which became the reason why orange is my favorite color.
Drummer Hoff was one of the books that I grew up loving- written by his wife Barbara, and illustrated by him, it tells a simple rhyming story about a band of soldiers who built a cannon and fire it, and ends with said cannon broken, and abandond surrounded by flowers and birds.
I had a bit of trouble with the objects, but the uniforms are actually pretty spot on- Mat is Private Parriage bringing the carriage, Snooze is Corporal Farrell, bringing the barrel, and Xit is Drummer Hoff, who'll be firing it off.

Yeah, the guys whole art style sort of got me started drawing. I mean, I always loved the simple shaped designs.

Also, his style may be simplistic, but Drummer Hoff had the most insane amount of detail hes ever done. I mean, i had a hard time with the cannon cause its hard to wrap my brain around how those lines are arranged.

Well, if you want, I bought an extra copy of the book, cause my original is in storage somewhere, and I wanted to get the character designs right. It would make an alright christmas gift to send you- get ya aquainted with one of the best childrens book artists I know.
