5-Card Chicken Boo
A possible card game and a bit of a critique by
Martin "Batty Buddy" Gray

Inspired by Scott McCloud's 5-card Nancy

Preparing the deck:
Find a bunch of episodes of Chicken Boo from Animaniacs and turn 5 single stills from each episode into cards of equal size and shape.  The stills MUST be from the following in-every-episode scenes;
1) "Look- it's _______ Boo..."
2) "I heard he's a giant chicken..."
3) Boo engages in whatever activity he's disguised for.
4) Boo's costume is destroyed.
5) "I TOLD YOU HE WAS A GIANT CHICKEN!!!"

Make sure to put some sort of indicator of which episode is which on all the cards- it can be hard to tell at times, and you will need to know in order to play.  Take all the cards, jumble them together, and prepare for fun. :D

How to play:

The game can be played in a great number of ways (Test them out and see which one works best for you, or better yet- invent your own that put mine to shame.)

Standard Play:

Each player gets five random Chicken Boo cards, the rest are left in the deck.  On your turn, you either take one card from your hand, and place it at the bottom of the deck, drawing another card from the top afterwards, OR swap one card with the player of your choice.  Upon receiving a full set of "Same episode" cards, place your set in your discard pile. The winner is whichever player has the most episodes in their discard pile when all the cards have been used up.

YouTube Poop Play:

Hunt through the deck and find a single "Look- it's _______ Boo..." card, placing it on the playing field.  Players then are given 5 cards each.  The game then plays like classic dominos: if you have a card that is next in sequence to any cards on the board with a free space next to them (Above, below or to either side of them.  The card can be the scene before, or after the free space card.) you can place that card there.  Cards do not have to be from the same episode.  If you DO NOT have a card that can be played, you must draw one from the deck and pass play on to the next player.  The winner is the first player to get rid of all their cards.

Storyboard Play:

All "Look- it's _______ Boo..." cards are put on the playing field.  After that, players take turns drawing cards.  If a card is the next sequence of an episode in play (for example, if you have a "Boo engages in whatever activity he's disguised for' card and there’s an "I heard he's a giant chicken..." for the same episode in play) it is placed below it.  If not, it is reshuffled into the deck.  The winner is the first player to complete a full episode.

Blasphemy Play:

Same as any of the previous ways to play, cept you do it in the place of worship of your choice with a lot of yelling, laughing, and cursing.
An idea I had...

You see, I was GOING to do a Motivational Poster reguarding a critique I had about Animaniacs, and it was going to be connected to a long speech about my thoughts on it... but then I thought up an idea for a fun game. :D

My critique is, as you might guess from this game, about the dependence of most of the show on running gags. Chicken Boo is IMO the worst offender of this (With Buttons and Mindy coming a close second... I'd imagine Katie Kaboom could have been a contender if enough people remembered her.)... In case anyones wondering, the least offender is Runt and Rita, with the only two running gags I know of being Runt saying "Definately" repeatedly, and wanting to chase cats but not knowing what they look like.

Please note- this is not to say I dislike Chicken Boo, OR any show on Animaniacs. In fact, I loved the show... but lets call it the way we see it.

Anyway, I'm not sure how well this game will work cause I just came up with it this morning and thus it hasn't been playtested, so if anyone actually thinks of following my instructions and having fun, please let me know how it goes.

Edit: I made a starter pack: [link]

Great idea for a card game. Me, I'm a big fan of Chicken Boo.
